Real Techniques: #MeetTheMiracles Part 1

Being a big fan of Real Techniques,  was excited to hear that they were expanding their Miracle Sponge collection after the rip roaring success of the Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Their new collection adds 2 sets to their normal range and 1 sponge to their existing Bold Metals (more professional and high end) collection. The Bold Metals Miracle Diamond Sponge will be featured a Part 2 post so keep your eyes peeled.

First up we have the Miracle Sculpting Sponge this has 6 different surfaces and is designed for highlight and contouring. The smaller, flatter surface at the top of the sponge is for precise highlighting application and the larger surface at the bottom is for contouring. Even though is says it is designed for powder, liquid or cream products- I find it better using with the latter two ways. Unless, you were to dampen the sponge and apply the powder that way. I haven't tried it myself that way yet but I will give it a go.

Next up we have the Miracle Mini Eraser Sponges which have 6 uses:
  • Sweep away under eye shadow fallout
  • Wipe away liner gone wrong
  • Pick up brow product fallout
  • Wipe away mascara smudges
  • Pick up over applied shadow
  • Blend away too much blush or highlighter
Considering they are for use under the eyes, they are quite large. However, that doesn't really bother me that much. I use these damp to apply concealer around my nose, chin and any other areas, and then dry to take away makeup and fall out.

The flat edges are designed to erase, the rounded sides are to buff and blend and the tips are for 'targeted sweep' which sounds like something a detective should be doing in an ITV Drama.

If you were to choose from the two, I would recommend the Mini Erasers over the Sculpting sponge as I feel they're a bit more versatile.

I also like that the coloured sponges correspond with the brush range i.e. Purple = Eyes, Orange = Base and Pink = Face.
The Sculpting Sponge is available now for £5.99 from Boots now and the Mini Erasers are available too for £5.99 from Boots also. They are buy one get one half price at the moment too!
