Maybelline Lash Sensational: The Benefit Roller Lash Dupe?

So as we all know- once again there was a massive hype around the Roller Lash mascara from Benefit. I loved the They're Real and you can see my thoughts on the Roller Lash here.

I am usually fan of Maybelline and when I noticed the similarities between the new Lash Sensational mascara and the Roller Lash I knew I had to investigate.

Firstly...the brush! Apart from the Maybelline being slightly wider- the shape is identical!

Roller Lash - Benefit

Lash Sensational (LS) has a patented fanning brush with 10 layers of bristles to full open the lashes and fan them out giving volume and length. The shorter bristles are designed to hug at the very root of the lash and then the longer bristles fan out as they work further out to the tip. I find this design very similar to Roller Lash (RL) which 'hugs' the lashes. The LS has a 'washable' formula, also not too dissimilar to the the RL which is water resistant but not water proof. Once again, if you have a tendency for oily lids then this is great, easy to remove and you have the added benefit of being  splash proof. As we all know, full blown water proof mascaras can be a bloody nightmare to get off.
RL state that it should hold the curl which it does, but so does the LS! I also find no crumbly fall out. The formulas are also identical in texture and both hold curl extremely well.

I've added pics below so you can see the similarities when they are actually worn. It so hard to tell the difference and I haven't even bought the full size of the RL as I do find nearly £20 for a mascara is ridiculous when I don't really think its classed as high end. The LS costs £7.99 from Boots and is currently 3 for 2.

What are your thoughts? Would you try the Lash Sensational over the Roller Lash?
