The Day I Became A Weatherwoman - BBC Tour

Hey Everyone,

So last Sunday, Andrew and I headed to Broadcasting House in London to do one of their tours. I was probably more excited that I should have been (especially at the prospect of reading the news or doing the weather report!). We headed into the main entrance of Broadcasting House and into the Media Cafe after a security check, we were given lanyards then our group of about 10 assembled. We were talked through different studios used in a VT which was really interesting and our guide was really enthusiastic and knowledgable, so even if kids were attending (over 9's only) they would find it fascinating. Each group is adapted to who it attending at the particular time. As we went on a Sunday, it was fairly quiet, so if I was to do the tour again, I would definitely do it in the week just to see if I could do some celeb spotting! Other parts of the tour include reading the news, (in a proper set up), doing the weather report and creating your own radio 4 mini play.
We can't wait to go again, and informative and really enjoyable, fun trip for everyone.

We also ate at Homeslice for the first before we went to the tour to give ourselves some energy- AMAZING pizza and we saw Terry Wogan chowing down in there too!

Now for the snaps from the BBC Tour..

These all happened to be in the Media Cafe!

I did the sound effects- SO much fun!

All in all we had a fabulous day, and will definitely be back. If you're looking for something to do in London, I would really recommend this tour. It lasts around 1.5hr and adults cost £13.75 , it's definitely money well spent, with very easy access- it's about 3 minutes walk from Oxford Circus

Have you done the tour? What were your thoughts?

A x
