My ALS/MND Ice Bucket Challenge

I was challenged by my cousin Rob to partake in the ALS/MND Ice Bucket Challenge.

I am so pleased that this challenge has raised awareness about MND (Motor Neurone Disease) all over the World. Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe.

My nan suffered from this, and although she is no longer with us- when she was here, there was no cure or she was just made to feel comfortable. There just isn't the funding, because it is a rare condition. Don't get me wrong, cancer needs to be cured too, but because there are SO many charities that help different fields of cancer. I feel that smaller charities and conditions get swamped and overlooked. Just because there aren't a great number of people suffering from it, surely it doesn't mean those people don't have a right to be helped and should go un noticed.

I really riled me up when reading online today that Macmillan had nudged in on the Ice Bucket Challenge. I myself text the number to donate to MND, only to find myself receiving a text from Macmillan to thank me for my donation. I wonder just how many people got screwed over doing this??

Last year alone, Macmillan raised £187 million- MND raised £13.3 million. I would genuinely hope a 'charity' wouldn't be so greedy as they already have the lion's share for crying out loud-and give someone else a chance. And that is just ONE cancer charity.

I am not usually a ranty typed person- but this really has rubbed me up the wrong way.

Please donate and take part, hopefully one day there will be a cure or solution

Text 'ICE55' followed by the amount you want to donate to 70070
