Lip Loving: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

Hey everyone,

So I jump on that old bandwagon called Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain to see what all of the fuss was about. I delved right in and couldn't contain my excitement - so bought 3 shades. With new launches I get bit a crazy so I decided to reign myself in (ha!)

I thought I would go for three different tones (usually I am all about the pinks) so grabbed one pink, one red and one neutral. The packaging is super sleek and they look much more expensive than they are (these were £7.99 each, buy on get one 1/2 off I think). The applicator holds a lot of product, but still allows for precise application but loaded with colour. One swipe from either side of the applicator and bob's your uncle.

These shades give create colour payoff, but I did find the red shade looked darker in the tube, and more of a pinky red on the lips. I would definitely stay swatch the colours you like the look of before so you don't get disappointed. I will still wear the shade, but it just wasn't the colour I was expecting. This is a non sticky formulation, so no hair stuck to lips incidents should occur and when worn, they feel like you don't have anything on your lips at all. The colour stays on a couple of hours and leaves a nice little tint. Not a major stain but a just bitten/ just kissed tint which I think looks really pretty. You can easily layer up the colour too, like me. I tend to do 2 or 3 coats for colour punch and longevity and the don't go claggy when you do this- like some similar products.

Now the swatches!

India Intrigue - Fuchsia Pink- Blue Toned

New York Scene - Pink Berry Red

Cannes Crush - Neutral Peachy Coral

India Intrigue

 New York Scene

Cannes Crush

These are a lovely little addition to your makeup bag and they're on offer in Boots at the moment 2 for £10 . If you want to try this kinda product but don't want to fork out loads of wonga on the more expensive versions such as the YSL Glossy Stain, then these are the way forward and much more purse friendly.

Have you tried these?
What are your thoughts?

  1. Good to hear it's not a sticky formula I hate when you do actually get your hair caught all in it an then you feel like your dragging sticky hair off your face! I may have to get myself some of these.. payday tomorrow woootwooot

  2. They didn't have any of these colours in my local Boots and they're the ones I most want to try - how annoying! I have the shade Barcelona nights and definitely agree that these look darker in the tube

    1. I ended up buying them online for the same reason - my local boots gets everything in late or not at all- it's ridiculous! They are a bargain x
