Hey, Good Bookin'

Hey all,

I have been waiting for these three books to come out for quite a while, so when I went into Waterstone's the other day and one was full price, and the other two were in the buy one get one half price section- they were screaming at me to be bought.

Now maybe these books may seem a little too 'young' for me, but I really don't care. I am a fan of all 3 authors and can't wait to get stuck in.

First up was Giovanna Fletcher's newest title, You're The One That I Want. Here's the blurb:

" Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob - the man she's about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben - best man and the best friend any two people ever had.
And that's the problem.
Because if it wasn't Rob waiting for her at the altar, there's a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive Ben has always kept his feelings to himself, but if he turned round and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?
Best friends since childhood, Maddy, Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it... "

I adored Giovanna's first book Billy & Me SO much I literally couldn't put it down so I am certain I will love this.

Next up we have the wonderful Sarra Manning's latest offering; The Worst Girlfriend In The World. Here's a little more from the blurb:

"My best friend was now my deadliest enemy, the one person I'd hate beyond all measure for the rest of my life . . .

Franny Barker's best friend, Alice, is the worst girlfriend in the world according to the many boys of Merrycliffe-on-Sea. She toys with them, then dumps them. But she'll never dump fashion-obsessed Franny. Nothing and no one can come between them.

Not even tousle-haired rock god, Louis Allen, who Franny's been crushing on hard. Until Alice, bored with immature boys and jealous of Franny's new college friends, sets her sights on Louis. Suddenly, best friends are bitter rivals.

Is winning Louis's heart worth more than their friendship? There's only one way for Franny to find out."

I have every single book Ms Manning has EVER published, and no doubt I will enjoy this just as much as the others. They helped me through my teenage years and not since Jacqueline Wilson books back when I was in primery and high school have I ever had such a connection with an author. I know that may sound odd but every book has some how related to moments in my life.

Last but by no means least we have the gorgeous Dawn O'Porter's newest read, GOOSE.

"It's a year and a half on from PAPER AEROPLANES, and Renée is now living idyllically with her Auntie Jo. They even have geese, and Renée likes to sit and watch them, wondering if she'll ever find 'the One' - someone who will love her no matter what, and be there for her no matter how bad things get. She and Flo are in their final year at school, and they've got some tough choices to make - like will they go to university? And if so where - and will they go together? Renée's usual ambivalence on the matter shocks Flo, who had assumed they'd continue as they were, the best and closest of friends, forever. She feels as though she needs Renée's support more than ever, so when a handsome young boy enters Flo's life, she finds herself powerfully drawn to his kindness, and his faith. Renée and Flo's friendship will soon be tested in a way neither of them could have expected - and if PAPER AEROPLANES was a book about finding friendship, GOOSE is the novel that explores whether it's possible to keep hold of it"

If you haven't read Paper Aeroplanes, I urge you to. A wonderful coming of age story that will definitely resonate with a lot of readers. It is more up front and frank, and doesn't pussy foot around. Wondeful book by a wonderful woman. If you're slightly older, check out her book 'Diaries Of An Internet Lover' - in my Top 5 favourite books of all time, up there with Mindy Kaling. It is about her year long journey into internet dating and the most memorable, disastrous and downright hilarious dates. I actually physically cried with laughter and I thought I could rival anyone when it came down to awful dates- but Dawn top trumps me!

I hope you enjoyed this non beauty post. But I do love reading so thought I would be nice and share!

Until next time,

A x

OH and I'll also just mention my awesome book mark from WH Smiths too. I love Spex and I love 50 Shades so why not put them together?
