L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Stay Fresh Foundation

Hey Everyone,

Now we all know that I love the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation, but sometimes I like to check out the high street/drugstore for cheaper alternatives. I'm a massive fan of Bourjois foundations, but I thought I would give the new L'Oreal a test run as I had read quite positive things about it, so I thought I'd spend a few pennies on giving a go.

First impressions we're pretty good, I like the glass bottle as it gives a more luxurious feel, however this doesn't make it too great for travelling as it is quite clunky- but it does look good on your dressing table.
It's quite a slimline and narrow bottle which I do like as they fit in my makeup bag a lot easier as I find other bottles such as Armani Luminous Silk, and Nars Sheer Glow are quite awkward shapes.
I like that it has a pump, and I find one pump enough to cover the whole face without going OTT. The downside, the actual dispenser is so awkward, as the product gets all gunked up around the nozzle so every time, you have to clean it. It's quite annoying as I love the product itself.

As you can see, it's easy to get super messy which is SO frustrating, as they bothered to put a pump on, just to make it messy.

This product claims to have:

- No Transfer
- No Visible Imperfections
-No Visible Shine
-No Dry-Out
-No Mask Effect

I totally agree with the no transfer, there is no trace whatsoever and applies so comfortably and is so easy to blend. I have some dry patches on the skin at the moment, which the foundation does cling to, but on other areas of the face, it definitely stays looking fresh. The added Hyaluron ensures the moisture is retained so there is no sign of dry, flaky, cakey foundation  I don't think that I can agree with the 24 hour claim- it says that it was tested on 57 subjects, that self evaluated- so I can't understand how L'Oreal can get away with claiming it with no real premise. It lasts me a full day without touching up which I am more than happy with and has an added SPF 18 so that always good to know.

I chose the shade 'Golden Beige 140' which is a pretty good match for me- I never really know in L'Oreal foundations what shade I am as the names and numbers always seem to change so it's hard to keep track- so I went over to Bourjois as I know the exact shade I am, and just matched up with that. It definitely medium coverage that's buildable. It doesn't sit on the skin, and I think will be perfect for summer when you want more than a little coverage, but don't want to over do it. It's a glowy dewy finish and really like how my skin looks when I wear it- it hides a multitude of sins. As you can see my ugly mug in the shots below- I thought I give you a hint as to how it looks when on (I have normal/ combination skin) so you have an idea if you have a similar skin type to me.

L'Oreal Infallible 24h Stay Fresh Foundation is now available at Boots, its on 3 for 2 at the moment and Superdrug for 3 for 2 as well, so grab it quick

I hope you enjoy this SUPER long post.

  1. This makes your skin look so flawless! I would make such a mess with that nozzle though!

    1. Thank you, it is a gorgeous foundation. I have found some of the L'Oreal ones to be a bit too heavy and not like the feeling of it on my skin. This is a beaut though. The nozzle was really messy so I had to clear it up before I photographed it. xx

  2. What is your MAC coloring? If you have one? I'm trying to find a good shade match but can't find enough swatches on this product :(

    1. Well to be honest I don't really use MAC foundations as I find that they can be too orange, but have had NW20 or NW25 before. In their Face and Body I have C3. If you to this page on the Illamasqua site, they have a conversion chart for all different brands including MAC, so if have any of them, it is easy to find out what MAC shade you would be too - http://www.illamasqua.com/socialise/find-your-perfect-match-with-our-mac-nars-bobbi-brown-ysl-skin-base-shade-comparison/ - I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any luck with it :-) x
