L'Oreal Eau De Teint Review

Hey everyone,

I thought I would share my thoughts on the L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint (what a mouthful- and also very hard to pronounce unless you are actually French!). It has been hailed as an Armani Liquid Maestro Foundation dupe (which I can't really comment on as I've only used the Luminous Silk one).

What I can tell you, is that I love it.

The product comes in a glass bottle- I think most L'Oreal ones are. It is small compact bottle which won't take up much space in your makeup bags, and even shows you how to apply it (which is handy as it is SO runny). A little goes a long way with this. If you like applying makeup with your fingers, this this is for you- however I prefer putting it on my hand first, and then buffing it into the skin. I just feel like you get a better finish that way.

After coming back from Holiday, this has been perfect to easing back into my makeup routine as it is SO light. You can definitely build the coverage up but at the moment for my skin, it is perfect. The texture is very silky and smooth and sits on the skin nicely. It doesn't last ALL day and would need topping up if you felt you needed to. The fact that it is SO runny and 'lighter than water' would probably be the reason why the wear isn't all day.

They do only make this in 6 shades which is a bit of a let down for darker skin and super fair skins too- L'Oreal- get yo' act together!!

I bought this as soon as it came out for £6.99 as an introductory price and is still available from Boots for this price but it is £9.99 in Superdrug so don't get caught out! Have you tried this foundation out? What are your thoughts?
Until next time

A x

2013 Favourites Part One - Brushes and Lip Products

Hey everyone,
I thought I would share with you the products that I loved in 2013. It was a hard task to whittle down as SO many products were launched. I have included new products, products that I have loved for a while and ones that I have bought for the first time.
I'll start with my favourite lip products:
Rimmel Apocalips
I felt that Rimmel really upped their game last year. I admit that I wasn't really a massive fan of the brand at all until they realised these gorgeous lovelies! With super high pigmentation and a steal at only £5.99 you can't go wrong. They last so well, and wear off nicely. The only thing that I didn't like is the watermelon like smell- but hey, that's a personal preference. Check out my full review here: http://www.amiisteward.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/rimmel-apocalips-review.html

Baby Lips by Maybelline

I absolutely loved that Baby Lips by Maybelline last year too- I actually have 4 (the 'Cherry Me' flavour isn't in the pic below- its in my coat pocket!) Whilst I was in New York in April I picked up the grape flavoured Baby Lips, and was completely hooked. They hadn't been released in the UK yet so thought it would be rude not to try one out. I have them all over the place. They feel nourishing on the lips, the flavour variation is nice and the price is only £2.99 (often on 3 for 2 in drugstores/ boots/superdrug)- BARGAIN! I highly recommend these and have included in swatches and full review of these babies here: http://www.amiisteward.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/maybelline-baby-lips-review.html

My Favourite Brushes

I know a lot of people are making 2013 favourites posts, but I haven't seen many include favourite brushes. These are the brushes I use on a daily basis and adore with my heart- not sure I could function without them!

Real Techniques by Sam and Nicola Chapman

L-R: Buffing Brush, Contour Brush, Deluxe Crease Brush
Buffing Brush: Perfect for applying foundation, powder, blusher and all of the above. Super soft and I take this wherever I go. It just the perfect size and has many uses
Contour Brush: Perfect for the obvious- contouring, I also use this for blusher and highlighter. Brilliant for working in cream products too. With the tapered end, it fits perfecting in the hollows of your cheek.
Deluxe Crease Brush: I very rarely use this for my crease- but I ALWAYS use it for my concealer. This is the perfect size for precision and blending.
Real Techniques brushes are available at Boots and Superdrug as well as other online stores.

Illamasqua

L-R Powder Brush, Blending Brush and Angled Brush

Powder Brush: Completely vegan and vegetarian its amazing how they made these brushes to be so soft and wonderful. I use this brush for blush as well as normal face powder.

Blending Brush: My favourite blending brush of all time. I can't even begin to explain how perfect this is. The perfect taper, length, everything!

Angled Brush: I use this brush on my brows all of the time, but I have had this a while and have a sneaky suspicion that Illamasqua have made it smaller. Either way the smaller one is good too- but I will cherish this one. Perfect for precision brows.

MAC

L-R: Mac 217 , Mac 239

217: These two brushes are by far my favourite MAC brushes- I haven't really got on too well with other ones in the past and they've malted quite quickly. However, these are two that I will purchase again if needed. The 217 is a lovely blending brush and great for creating and diffusing a smoky eye.

239: Perfect for packing on colour and also smudging liner on the lashline, and under the eye also. Perfect little thing.

Part 3: Face & Eyes

This is my last post on my 2013 Favourites and I hope you have enjoyed reading them. If you would like to see these kind of posts in the future, be sure to comment below :-)

Nars Sheer Glow // Laguna / Orgasm Duo

Whilst in New York I decided to bite the bullet and buy the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation- after hearing nothing but great reviews I thought It was about time to add it to my collection. I will 100% buy this again and always get compliments when I'm wearing it. It lives up to
It's title and give the perfect amount of glow without looking OTT. The second thing I purchased was the Nars Duo with the Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blush. I take this wherever I go and is deffo worth the investment. The only issue I have is with the packaging- whilst it is pain and sleek, I just don't like the matt style coated finish. EVERYTHING clings to it making it look murky.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance

I have used this product for YEARS! Too Faced Shadow Insurance, in my eyes, is THE best shadow primer of all time! I know that's a pretty big statement but it is seriously true. The tubes seem to last forever and when used your eye makeup doesn't go anywhere. You can now buy these in different shades variations but I always stick to the original!

Illamasqua Brow Cake / Liquid Liner / Masquara
Illamasqua Brow Cake in Thunder has been a makeup staple for me ever since Illamasqua launched. I use every day without fail, and it has served me well. Along with the Masquara and Liquid Liner a perfect quick and easy look can be created. The masquara makes your lashes look out of this world, the liner is SO densely black it's wonderful and Thunder is the perfect brow colour for me that won't budge all day. All in all, these are definite winners.

Urban Decay Quad

Whilst in the states back in April, I decided to treat myself to the Glinda and Theodora palettes from Urban Decay - I absolutely love both palettes but haven't used all of the colours as much, so I thought it would be a good idea to buy one of the empty quads. I am in London quite a bit and always on the go, so thought this would be a quick and easy thing throw in my makeup back and have a perfect look in minutes.

L-R Broken , Bewitch, Beware and South

The first three colours are from the Theodora palatte, and South is from the Glinda palette. I use Broken as a highlight shade, Bewitch or South on the lid, and then use Bewitch in the crease or a blend out colour. I use this all of the time and definitely recommend getting one if you are always on the go.

Have you tried any of these products?
